Today we talked all about geshem (rain) as it connects to Parshat Noach. We learned that rain comes from clouds and did an experiment to help us understand the water cycle. Some new words we learned are geshem (rain) and anan/im (cloud/s) You can recreate this experiment at home by following the instructions in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TByoS_RoG9Y

This week we have been learning a new vowel- Segol. We are able to read so many words using the vowels we know!
We talked about Parshat Bereishit and learned words connected to creation- light (or) darkness (Choshech) water (mayim) and sky (shamayim) to name a few.
Together we are working on a Bereishit hallway display. Students worked in pairs or small groups to create a number that reflects what was created on that day. The students needed to first plan, discuss and delegate before beginning their work. They worked very well together as teams!

We examined Morah Shaina's Etrog. We look forward to watching it change and counting how many seeds are inside. We each took a guess and we will see if anyway guessed correctly next week!

Yesterday we learned about the mitzvah of lulav and etrog. We created a project to help us remember the four items we need in order to fulfill this mitzvah: lulav, etrog, hadassim and aravot.
Today we talked about the Brachos we make before eating in the Sukkah and for shaking the Lulav. We each had a word and together we put the words in order and practiced saying the Brachot.

Today we read an entire story using the vowels we are familiar with- kamatz, patach and tzeirei. Each student read a line and as a group we completed the story. I will send this booklet home on Friday for you to read with your child. Please return it signed so that I know you and your child read it together.
