Today we learned a new vowel- Tzeirei!

We practiced reading it with all the Alef Bet letters. We began our Tzeirei packets and will read this vowel in many ways throughout the week in our class.

Reading and writing can happen in so many exciting ways. Today we used shaving cream. We each read the sound before smoothing it out and writing new words we can read. What fun! And what a great way to clean the tables before Shabbat!

So many ways to practice Hebrew!

We practiced more with "Ani M'..." and "Ani Lo M'..." and worked on a project that represents our sentence. For example: "Ani Lo M'Disneyland" (I am not from disneyland). We even tried coming up with "Imma M..." and "Abba M....". We learned that our families have come from near and far before moving to Houston!

Writing Shana Tova cards to our friends and family

Wiki Stix letters- thank you to the parent who donated this great manipulative!

Dear Parents

Bentzi joined us today and told us where he is from..." M'Yisrael". We used the Mem prefix to tell our friends where we are from.

We continued with more Patach/Kamatz reading. We played several different games that developed this skill.

Toss a pom-pom in a cup and read the word on the other side!

Read three words and balance three scoops across the room!
I will send home a copy of this sheet at the end of the week.

Lots of Hebrew reading activities today!

Students filled in missing vowels and drew the word after reading it.

Searching for letters in the Alef Bet sensory bottle...

 Rhyming words puzzle in Hebrew.

Each one of these lego bricks represents a word we read. How tall will it be tomorrow??

Today we learned the phrase "Na'eem Me'od" (which is used for 'nice to meet you'). We played a group Na'eem Me'od game and transformed our dramatic play area into a business center. On interviews, or in business meetings, you must introduce yourself and politely say "Na'eem Me'od" when meeting someone new.

Shabbat Shalom!

Hebrew reading in Kindergarten is getting really exciting! We are now able to read real words, not just sounds. Try to find a few minutes each day to practice some of the words you see on the list below.
